Program Learning Outcomes

Knowledge: 

The program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills related to the fields of archaeology, history, anthropology, ethnography, tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and the ability to understand the different narratives related to Palestine's tangible and intangible heritage.

  • Demonstrate knowledge in the history and theory of the discipline.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in Zionist ideologies and their impact on the Palestinian historical narrative Identify the methods used by entities and individuals who work illegally in the field of antiquities and cultural heritage.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the management of archaeological sites, museums, galleries, and exhibits of tangible and intangible cultural heritage materials.

Skills: 

The program aims to train students in acquiring the scientific and standardized skills in research and preservation of archaeological sites and cultural heritage artifacts.

  • Demonstrate the skill of employing various tools and methodologies to document oral history and preserve cultural material such as, archaeological sites, pottery, manuscripts, coins, inscriptions, etc.
  • Demonstrate skill in the use of advanced methods of preserving and studying historical manuscripts.
  • Employ internationally recognized and most advanced tools and methods in the documentation of Palestinian cultural heritage.

Attitude: 

The program aims to help students acquire a positive attitude towards the cultural heritage, tangible and intangible and become activists in the different disciplines that are part of this program.

  • Demonstrate solid core knowledge in the discipline that will enable them to pursue a career.
  • Demonstrate a positive approach to the necessity to document and preserve archaeological sites, and tangible and intangible cultural heritage artifacts.
  • Exhibit independent initiative, thinking, and logic in their approach to field research in archaeological sites, and tangible and intangible cultural heritage artifacts.
  • Function as committed global citizens who understand the need to preserve archaeological sites and cultural heritage for the benefit of their own nation and of the world.
