Upon completion of this program neonatal nurses will be able to:
Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in the care of special and critically ill neonates
Demonstrate competence in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all aspects of neonatal interventions
Utilize evidence based practice in planning care for these neonates
Provide high quality, holistic car for special and critically ill neonates and their families.
Competent members of the multidisciplinary health team
Meet the health needs of critically ill neonates and their families
Demonstrate effective communications skills
Effectively advocate for the special needs of critically ill neonates and their families
Demonstrate management skills for this special care unit
Understand their role as counselors, administrative, educators and researchers.
Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional growth and profession through participation in professional organization, workshops, conferences, training programs and community activities.
