Repeating Courses

A.      "F" Grade

A student who fails a course must repeat it as soon as possible.  The following are conditions which apply for repeating failed courses:

1.       If a student fails a Faculty/Major required course repeated for the second time, the student will be dismissed from the University unless he/she can earn acceptance into another Faculty/Major, as applicable.

2.       A University required course can be repeated three times. If a student repeats a university required course for the third time and fails it, the student will be dismissed from the University.

3.       An elective course may or may not be repeated, as the student may choose to fulfill his/her elective requirements by taking a different elective course.

B.      "D/D+" Grade

Upon approval of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, a third- or fourth-year student may repeat a maximum of two required courses with D or D+ grades if this is needed to satisfy the graduation requirement of a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or/and a Major GPA of 2:00.

C.      GPA

When a course is repeated, both grades will be recorded, but only the more recent of the two will be computed in the GPA.
