ACADEMIC REGULATIONS

STUDENT RIGHTS

Students have the right to appeal an academic decision, to have grievances considered, to seek alleviation of student problems, to privacy and protection of their school records, and to suggest ways to improve the University's academic life.  Students have the right to have all graded material returned and to review their final exams.  Any questions or appeals must first be addressed to the teacher and must be made within 48 hours.  In the case of final examinations the appeal must be made within three school days after the distribution of Grade Reports. If the teacher is not available, the appeal must be made to the Chairperson or Dean.  If the matter cannot be settled between the teacher and student, the student may appeal to the Department Chairperson/Dean. Academic questions are not subject to popular student vote.  In all academic matters, the Vice President for Academic Affairs is the final authority.
